The joy of flying has enabled us to have some great opportunities to fly in interesting places and occasionally some quite interesting machines too.

Here are just a few pictures of some of our most memorable trips that have incorporated a bit of recreational flying.

One I didn't manage to get a flight in but did get a quick look at the flight deck.

Catalina N5404J  Christmas being prepared at St Monica, California prior to being ferried to New Zealand via Fiji. Unfortunately it ditched only a few days later near Christmas Island in the Pacific whilst en-route. Thankfully all the crew were rescued by a passing cargo ship. Despite the loss of this aircraft the consortium went on to successfully locate another which now resides in NZ.

Over flying the Fantasy of Flight museum at Polk City with former Lufthansa Super Constellation just about visible between the struts. Possibly one of my best flying days ever with endless touch a go's on what seemed like every lake for 20 miles.

Bureta Airstrip, Levuka  in Fiji.  Now this would be a place to fly your micolight from. Its only 12 minutes by air from Suva on the main island. This journey can also be done by boat but it takes the best part of 5 hours.
