This page has been created from a  selection of the aerial, airstrip and aircraft photos taken over the years. Some are close to home and others quite a bit further a field.

Photo. 3.9 - September 2006 - SA

An interesting airstrip spotted along side the R26 route through the Free State near Reitz. The first couple of hundred yards are flat whilst the remainder rapidly slopes up at about 30 degrees to the tree line. Presumably approaches for the less adventurous are always in over the road and out the same way. The tanks on the hill far left are for refilling crop sprayers.

Photo. 3.10 - August 2008 - SA

This basic airstrip with a Cessna and Piper parked outside was noted along the N14 on the road between Krugersdorp and Pretoria. Its marked on the local air map as being called Lasertronics.

Photo. 3.11 - August 2008 - SA

A southern hemisphere spring time Sunday morning and not a soul about. This inviting airstrip alongside the R24 is aptly called Crosswinds with a dizzying field elevation of 5118 feet ASL.
